Wing, 13, is being torn apart with emotions. He is angry at the cancer that is killing his father. And he is frustrated with the humiliation that Fat Ed and the other lunchroom bullies heap on his football team, the Titans, every time they lose. It seems that every member of the team is looking for an outlet for his own pain. One day during a particularly bad game, Coach asks Wing if he has something to prove. When he says he does, Coach writes two words on the boy's jersey that change the Titans forever - PROVE IT. So Wing and the rest of the Titans make their anger work in their favor, propelling the team to the championship.
