A modern, teen take on A Christmas Carol, but set during Valentine's day. Ben and Marly are the star couple at their high school. When Marly becomes sick and dies, Ben is sure he will never get over the loss. In the way that Scrooge turned on Christmas, Ben turns on love, sinking into depression and becoming more and more isolated. Not a warm and fuzzy holiday story, but a good one, for mature readers.
